At least 14 persons were killed and 16 others were injured as unseasonal rains accompanied by strong gusts of winds hit 13 districts of Gujarat, the state government said Tuesday.
The maximum fatalities were reported from the district of Kheda where four persons were killed and three others were injured on Monday. Apart from Kheda, human deaths were also reported from Ahmedabad (2), Aravalli (2), Anand (1), Dahod (1) and Vadodara (3). The deaths happened due to lighting strikes, advertising hoarding collapses and falling of uprooted trees and walls
During the unseasonal rains, 26 cattle also perished, and seven houses were damaged, the state government added.
